Ippolito Caffi: Between Venice and the Orient
Museo Correr hosts the exhibit dedicated to the innovative traveller artist of ‘800’s: Ippolito Caffi. 150 years after his death, this great exhibit wants to celebrate the artist who was born in Belluno but lived in Venice for many years, loving it madly. For the first time, after 50 years, you will be able to admire the hundreds of artworks donated by widow Virginia Massina to Venice in 1889. This exhibition is a tribute to this visionary genius who immortalize the soul of the places and populations visited during his many journeys through Italy and Europe. This collection is composed by 150 artworks, drawings and 23 albums. This set of artworks and paintings is the biggest witness of the artistic life of Caffi. The exhibition is open until the 20 of November. Museum Correr is in San Marco’s square. The entire-ticket price is 10 €, the reduce one is 8 €.
