Sigmar Polke in Palazzo Grassi
From 17° April to 6° November 2016 Palazzo Grassi hosts an exhibition on the great Sigmar Polke. This exhibition has an unusual feature: the chronologic itinerary starts from the last part of the artist’s life. The first works, that we meet in hall of museum, are from the last pictorial cycle realized between 2005 and 2007. On the next two floors there are 90 works which recall the period from the beginning of 2000 to the first years of artist’s career, about ’60. The proposed themes concern art, policy and modern and ancient history. This event has been organised by “Estate of Sigmar Polke” and curated by Elena Geuna and Gusy Tosatto. Palazzo Grassi is in Campo San Samuele, very near to Accademia’s Bridge, it is easily reachable by steamboat line 2. The ticket price is 15€ or 10€ reduced. The opening time is from 10 to 19.
