Poetry in Venice: Rotelli and the vivid energy of creating
Poetry as the raw material of his artistic language: words spoken, written, played musically, designed by the great interpreters of the 20th century, form the alphabet of his works. Marco Nereo Rotelli gives a voice to the interpreters of written lyrics, by means of a succession of works ranging from painting to sculpture, installations and video.
This event will last for an entire month. It will involve the most important exposition centres in the city. Fluendo Verso begins at the main location, Ca' Pesaro, then “flows on” to the Caffé Florian, Ca' Vendramin Calergi, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and the Molino Stucky Hilton.
Thus, Venice, in five prestigious places, is hosting this great exposition, organized by Annamaria Orsini and produced by «Venezia News».
By means of the exposition, Marco Nereo Rotelli intends to pay tribute to Venice, in the halls, along the facades and in the internal courtyards.
A disciple of Emilio Vedova, in his works the artist re-evokes all his friends, the poets and writers who have strongly influenced his artistic training and his vision of life and research, such as Andrea Zanzotto, Fernanda Pivano, Adonis, Yang Lian, and Mario Luzi.
The golden dimension of the declaimed word assumes a new, unusual value, because it is considered in the light of personal interpretations, inspiring large installations that enthrall observers emotionally and aesthetically.
In brief, this personal exposition is decidedly open to the world, to dialogue and to the lively interaction between creative languages. An exposition-bridge between knowledge, experiences, forms and languages.

FLUENDO VERSO Save Poetry

By means of the great poets who have loved our city, the Venetian artist Marco Nereo Rotelli has created especially for Venice, conceived as a ‘city-concept’, several large installations, all linked together in a unicum which ‘invades’ the Longhenian andron, the small adjacent exposition halls and the internal courtyard of the museum. A masterly mix of art works, architecture and spectators, in a tangle of emotions, knowledge and culture.

Inspired by the last Venetian residence of Wagner, every day Marco Nereo Rotelli creates small paintings which he then combines in a large mosaic: the work presented is an extension of the installation called Save the Poetry, (already displayed at the Espace culturel Louis Vuitton, Paris). In these settings, rich in artistic and historical evocations, it acquires an ulterior communicative ability, drawing even closer to the research of a linguistic “graal”: a truth hidden in lost ancient languages.

This historic cafè in Saint Mark’s Square is reproposing Constellation: an installation created for the Living Theater of New York, composed of a luminous triptych: steel globes, pierced with words from which light shines forth. This work is the expression of the collaboration and deep mutual comprehension that the artist has enjoyed for many years with the writer Fernanda Pivano, documented in this exposition also by a series of letters sent by Fernanda to Marco Rotelli.
