Viva Arte Viva: 57th Venice Art Biennale

"The meeting with the artist becomes an integral part of the exhibition". These are the reassuring words of the President of the 57th Venice Biennale, Paolo Baratta who, together with the curator Christine Macel, emphasizes the willingness to change attitude in relation to an art too often self-referential and wanting to then propose a path that turns more and more to the public, involving them in life and in the interests of the artist.

To do this there will be some news, unveiled by the President and by the curator, following his meeting with the 57 countries that have confirmed their presence at the event. During the exhibition, which will be open to the public from 13 May to November 26, 2017 (Vernissage from 10 to 12 May), every Saturday, you can take part in the so-called Open Table, where an artist will have lunch with the public in two spaces, gardens and at the Arsenal, with the aim of creating a convivial meeting.

Will also be commissioned to artists some videos that describe their practice while the initiative “La mia Biblioteca” will allow artists to mix together in a list the favorite books, guaranteeing to the public an access to their interests.

The title itself of the Biennale - Viva Arte Viva - is a kind of exclamation that celebrates the artist but also the passion for art by the curator, acting as mediator, provides viewers with access to the world of art that is a "valuable subject to be protected because it is a place of freedom, of reflection, of dreams and utopia".
